COUNSELING FOR KIDS GRANT

The window to submit your application for the Counseling for Kids Grant is currently OPEN and closes on July 31st.

Eligibility & Selection

Priority is given to K–12 educational institutions across South Dakota. One (1) recipient is selected through an application process led by the Better South Dakota Board in collaboration with the principal and superintendent of the chosen school.

Award Structure

The award is a one-time financial grant of $10,000 provided to the chosen institution on August 10th of the given year.

Use of Funds

Grant funds must be used to strengthen the school’s counseling services. Schools have full discretion in how funds are allocated, including, but not limited to, hiring or contracting additional counselors, purchasing educational materials and program resources, funding local field trips, or supporting other initiatives that enhance student mental health services.
